Hello, friends! After a week of passing a stomach virus through our family, I found myself reminiscing on Eva's first birthday party this summer. Seeing as how I didn't ever write a blog post about that day, I thought it would be fun to show a few pictures (because I only got a few pictures, to be honest)!
My daughter's first birthday party is an event I'd been planning since I found out I was having a girl. For months I went back and forth on themes, pinned hundreds of ideas, and finally settled on a sweet "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" theme, but with the colors being champagne, gold, navy, and blush pink. I had an invitation design, decor ideas, beautiful cake, and menu all planned out.
And then, a couple of months before her birthday, we decided to sell our house and take a vacation to Pennsylvania...and all of those birthday plans got put on the backburner. What happened instead was an invite by text, a last-minute trip to Target for decorations, and a cake made by yours truly from a boxed mix.
You know what? I miss birthdays like this, where the focus is simply on the birthday girl and friends and family than it is the decorations or the theme. It really was a great day, and my most favorite memory was of Eva DEVOURING her smash cake. (Girl after my own heart!) In fact, it's really the only thing I got pictures of. Who doesn't love eating cake this much?!
